Technology Support & Distribution Pages

Voting members will be using electronic tablets to reference the Pre-Assembly Report during the assembly. Because of the diverse experience in tablet use among the voting members, some may have more difficulty than others in accessing the appropriate documents and downloading updates. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the plenary hall to assist voting members problem shoot simple things, such as accessing the internet and using the specially designed app. These volunteers should be familiar with tablet technology. If there is a problem with the actual device, then the volunteer should refer the voting member to the electronic tablet help desk, where an ELCA Churchwide Information Technology staff member will assist them. All of these volunteers will be trained by ELCA Churchwide Information Technology staff on the basics of the tablet and how to use the specially designed app.

These Tech Support volunteers will also be asked to help distribute a variety of materials to help conduct the business of the Churchwide Assembly. Many of these materials are distributed on voting member tables during break periods, before and after plenary sessions.

IMPORTANT: It is preferred that the same people 25 fill each time slot, each day of the week.

Number of volunteers needed: 25
Requirements: basic computer knowledge and standing, sitting, walking, and bending.

  • Monday, August 5 – 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm
  • Tuesday, August 6 – 7:30 am to 11:30 am; 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm
  • Wednesday, August 7 – 7:30 am to 11:30 am; 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, August 8 – 7:30 am to 11:30 am; 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Friday, August 9 – 7:30 am to 11:30 am; 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm
  • Saturday, August 10 – 9:30 am to 12:00 pm
